How can this service be free to the employer?
Simply put, the service is funded by charging the candidate a small fee for forwarding their resume to a group(s) of motorsports employers or in response to a job listing. Thin of it as giving the razor a way for free and charging for the razor blades which you don't charge much for but sell many more of.
How long is candidate information kept in the databank?
Because motorsports hiring is largely cyclical based on the racing seasons of each series, we have chosen to retain resumes for 1 year. We have made this the period of the candidate's registration. Resumes are available to employers for as long as the candidate's registration is in force. They can renew their registration annually. At that time, they are encouraged to review and update their resume information if they have not already done so.
The idea of having resumes right on my computer where they are handy sounds good, but after we first register won't we have to accumulate months of resumes before that service becomes useful?
Whenever you enroll in an employer group, every candidate who has selected that group within the last 12 months to send their resume to will be notified by email. They will be able to send their resume to you with just a couple of clicks, so you should quickly receive as much as a year's worth of resumes.
What information is provided in the Resume Forwarding Email?
The initial email identifies the position(s) sought/qualified for, contact information, willingness to move, degrees, certifications, special relevant skills, the candidate's written synopsis and most recent employment. For a detailed listing of the abbreviated information initially supplied and the full resume information captured, click here.
How long should we keep the resume emails on our computers?
Since the information is on your computer, this decision is entirely up to you. You can keep resumes indefinitely. They don't take up much space.
However, we encourage candidates to update their resumes annually when they reregister and to forward their resumes anew when they update them. You may find it practical to occasionally delete resumes older than one year. This is a simple process: Just sort the resume emails by date and delete any older than the date you select.
How many Resume Forwarding Emails can I expect to receive?
Obviously, this will vary by group. At this stage, we estimate between 5 and 20 per day, depending on the group and the day. There are, however, occasional days when the website's traffic spikes and this may as much as quadruple. Of course, we hope to continue to grow the number of website visitors and candidates registered.
How much disk space will the Resume Forwarding Emails use?
When compressed, several thousand Resume Forwarding Emails (approximately one year's worth) should take up only about 10 megabytes of disk space or about what 200 resumes in Microsoft Word would take up.
What fields will I be able to search on the website?
Of course, once a resume is on your computer's hard drive, you can search the entire resume for keywords with your email program or any of the search/indexing programs available. Similarly when you conduct a search on the website you will be able to enter the keywords you wish to find and the database will search all relevant fields in the resume (some, like the start and end dates of a candidate's employement wouldn't be relevant to a search so are left out to speed up the search).
How will our free job listings work?
How does the Anonymous Resume Forwarding service for Candidates affect employers?
Candidates have the option of Anonymous Resume Forwarding. This service essentially hides their name and contact information if, for example, they want to ensure that their current employer does not discover that they are "testing the waters". In order to contact a candidate who has selected the Anonymous Resume Forwarding Service, you simply log on to JobsInMotorsports.com and fill in an email form, including the candidate's Contact ID. Your email will be forwarded to the candidate.
How can I keep the initial Resume Forwarding Emails, the Full Resume emails I request and the resumes I receive in response to a job listing separate from each other?
When you register there are three separate email address fields so that you can enter separate email addresses for each type of resume email. In addition, a code in the subject line of the email will be different. You can use either a different email address for each or use a filter in your email program to direct each type into a different mailbox based on the email address in the From field. A "How To" on filtering using the major email programs is available to registered employers.
What information do we need to supply in order to register as a motorsports employer?
To register as a motorsports employer you will be required to provide contact information and email addresses to which the resume emails will be sent. You will be contacted personally by telephone to verify the information and that you are a bonafide motorsports employer. To see a list of the fields you will need to fill in, click here.
When we register, will we be opening ourselves up to a lot of candidate phone calls, emails and letters?
No, candidates will only be able to contact you by forwarding their abbreviated resume emails to you through the JobsInMotorsports.com website. The only information they will see about you on the website will be the name of your organization and what employer group(s) you are in. In fact, your contact information (other than email addresses for forwarding resume emails) will not even be stored on the server, but rather on a separate computer in our offices.
Does JobsInMotorsports.com provide any other staffing services?
While you are not obligated to use them, JobsInMotorsports.com is a subsidiary of Motorsports Recruiting, an executive recruiting firm specializing in the motorsports industry. If we decide not to participate any longer, can we remove ourselves from JobsInMotorsports.com?
